Achnagairn Castle Wedding Videographer

Having filmed weddings at Achnagairn Castle, it’s a venue I always enjoy returning to as a wedding videographer in the Scottish Highlands.

Set in the beautiful Scottish Highlands just outside Inverness, Achnagairn Castle is one of the most beautiful castle wedding venues near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.. With its grand interiors, sweeping grounds, and the ability to host an entire celebration in one place, it creates the perfect setting for a relaxed but unforgettable wedding weekend.

Charlotte and Hunter’s wedding at Achnagairn Castle was a wonderful example of how this venue allows a wedding day to unfold naturally — surrounded by friends, family, and the dramatic scenery of the Highlands.

Why Achnagairn Castle is a Wonderful Wedding Venue

Achnagairn Castle is one of the most distinctive wedding venues in the Scottish Highlands. Located just outside Inverness, the castle offers exclusive use of the estate, allowing couples and their guests to fully relax and enjoy the celebration together.

One of the things that makes weddings at Achnagairn so special is how easily the entire day flows within the venue itself. From morning preparations in the castle bedrooms to ceremonies, speeches and dancing in the grand ballroom, everything takes place in one beautiful setting.

With its sweeping Highland surroundings, elegant interiors and welcoming atmosphere, Achnagairn Castle creates the perfect backdrop for a wedding that feels both intimate and spectacular.

Getting Ready at Achnagairn Castle

One of the things I particularly enjoy about filming weddings at Achnagairn Castle is how easily the morning preparations flow within the venue itself.

Charlotte and Hunter both spent the morning getting ready in different parts of the castle, surrounded by their closest friends as the excitement quietly built throughout the morning. The castle’s elegant bedrooms and grand interiors provide a beautiful setting for these early moments of the day.

Meanwhile, guests staying in the estate lodges were piped down to the castle in true Scottish style — a wonderful moment that immediately set the tone for the celebration ahead.

A Ceremony Full of Personality

The ceremony took place inside the castle and was led by someone who knew the couple well, making it deeply personal and full of warmth. Stories, laughter and a few emotional moments created the kind of atmosphere that makes ceremonies like this so memorable.

Afterwards, the newlyweds stepped outside into the castle gardens for confetti, drinks and canapés. With the Highlands surrounding the estate, the setting provided the perfect backdrop for guests to relax, mingle and enjoy the afternoon together.

Speeches and Dinner in the Ballroom

As the celebrations moved into Achnagairn Castle’s grand ballroom, the atmosphere lifted once again with a lively entrance from the bagpiper — a brilliant way to bring everyone together before the speeches began.

The speeches themselves were heartfelt and full of humour, creating that familiar mix of laughter and emotion that often becomes one of the most memorable parts of a wedding day.

Dinner followed in the ballroom, with the castle’s dramatic setting providing a spectacular backdrop for the evening celebrations.

A Dancefloor to Remember

As evening arrived, the ballroom quickly transformed into a packed dancefloor, with music filling the room and guests ready to celebrate long into the night.

Achnagairn Castle is a venue that lends itself beautifully to this kind of celebration — bringing everyone together in one space where the energy of the evening naturally builds.

It was the perfect ending to a wedding day that had already been full of joy from beginning to end.

Filming a Wedding at Achnagairn Castle

Achnagairn Castle is a wonderful venue to film as a wedding videographer. With so many beautiful spaces inside the castle and throughout the surrounding grounds, the day flows naturally from one moment to the next.

From the excitement of the morning preparations, through to the ceremony, speeches and evening celebrations, it offers endless opportunities to capture the atmosphere of the day in a natural and unobtrusive way.

Charlotte and Hunter’s wedding was a perfect reflection of everything that makes Achnagairn Castle such a special place to celebrate.
