Scotland Wedding Videographer

Filming Weddings Across Scotland

Scotland is one of the most extraordinary places in the world to get married.

From historic castles and elegant country estates to coastal barns and dramatic Highland landscapes, weddings here are shaped not only by the people who gather, but also by the places where they unfold.

As a documentary wedding videographer in Scotland, my approach is always the same: to capture the real moments of the day as they naturally happen.

Rather than directing scenes or staging moments, I quietly observe the day as it unfolds — from the anticipation of the morning preparations to the ceremony, speeches, and celebrations later in the evening.

The result is a wedding film that reflects how the day truly felt.

Over the years I’ve filmed weddings across Scotland at venues ranging from historic castles to elegant country estates and coastal venues. Some of the places I regularly film at include Achnagairn Castle, Cluny Castle, Errol Park, Dunglass Estate, and Balbirnie House, each offering its own unique atmosphere for a wedding day.

A Documentary Approach to Wedding Videography

Every wedding has its own atmosphere.

Some are filled with quiet anticipation, others with laughter and energy from the very beginning. My role as a Scotland wedding videographer is simply to observe these moments as they naturally unfold.

I don’t ask couples to repeat moments or perform for the camera. Instead, I focus on the small interactions, the emotion of the ceremony, and the atmosphere created by family and friends gathered together.

This documentary approach allows the wedding film to feel natural, relaxed, and true to the day itself.

Wedding Venues Across Scotland

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of filming weddings at venues across Scotland.

From castle estates in the Highlands to coastal venues in Fife and elegant city venues in Edinburgh, every setting brings its own character to the day.

Some of the venues I particularly enjoy filming at include:

Each venue creates a different atmosphere, but what they all share is the ability to bring people together to celebrate in a meaningful place.

Castle Weddings in Scotland

Scotland is famous for its castle wedding venues, and many couples travel from around the world to celebrate in these remarkable historic buildings.

From grand Highland estates to intimate countryside castles, these venues create a sense of history and atmosphere that feels truly unique.

Castle venues such as Cluny Castle, Drumtochty Castle, Auchen Castle, and Boturich Castle provide incredible settings where the entire wedding day can unfold within one beautiful estate.

Countryside and Estate Weddings

Many couples are drawn to the relaxed atmosphere of countryside venues.

Across Scotland, estates, barns, and garden venues offer a setting where the wedding day can unfold naturally between indoor spaces and the surrounding landscape.

Venues such as Errol Park, Rossie on the Earn, The Byre at Inchyra, and Guardswell Farm create a wonderful balance between elegant surroundings and a relaxed celebration.

City Weddings in Scotland

For couples planning a city wedding, Scotland’s historic cities offer some incredible venues.

In Edinburgh and Glasgow, weddings often take place within beautiful historic buildings surrounded by vibrant city life.

Venues such as Edinburgh City Chambers, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh, and The Engine Works Glasgow provide unique settings where history and modern celebration meet.

Planning Your Wedding in Scotland

Planning a wedding in Scotland means choosing a setting that reflects the atmosphere you want for your day.

Some couples are drawn to dramatic Highland landscapes, others to elegant estates, peaceful countryside venues, or historic city buildings.

Wherever your wedding takes place, my aim is always the same: to capture the real moments of the day so that your wedding film reflects not just how everything looked, but how it felt to be there.
