Wedding Weekend Videographer in Scotland
More than just the wedding day.
If you're travelling to Scotland to get married, chances are you're planning more than just one day of celebrations.
Perhaps you've booked a beautiful Scottish estate or castle for a few nights, with friends and family travelling from all over the world to join you. There might be welcome drinks the evening before, Highland games on the lawn, a relaxed dinner with everyone together or a few speeches before the wedding day itself.
These are often some of the most enjoyable parts of the whole experience, and they're well worth capturing on film.
Alongside my full-day wedding films, I offer extended wedding weekend coverage, capturing all those extra moments and celebrations that make your time in Scotland so special.
A Wedding Weekend at Penicuik Estate – Sarah & Zach
Sarah and Zach travelled from the United States for a three-day wedding celebration at the beautiful Penicuik Estate, just outside Edinburgh, bringing their friends and family together for a few days of celebrations in the Scottish countryside.
I joined them for the first two days, capturing everything from Highland games and lunch beside the loch to a few brave guests taking a dip in the water.
There was plenty of laughter, drinks in the courtyard, time to catch up with friends and family, and an intimate dinner to round things off.
What I loved about filming these celebrations was how relaxed everyone was. There was no rush to get anywhere, just everyone enjoying being together, with so many lovely little moments happening throughout the day.
Their film is a great example of how much of your wedding story can happen before the wedding day even begins.
Your Whole Wedding Weekend, Captured Naturally
One of the lovely things about a destination wedding in Scotland is having the chance to spend proper time with your favourite people.
Rather than everyone arriving on the morning of the wedding and leaving the following day, you've got a whole weekend together. There's time to catch up, relax, have a few drinks and enjoy everything your venue and the surrounding countryside have to offer.
My approach to filming these celebrations is much the same as on the wedding day itself. I'll quietly capture everything as it happens, without directing people or asking anyone to do things for the camera.
It's all about the natural interactions, laughter, conversations and little moments that tell the story of your time together.
Pre-Wedding Celebrations in Scotland
Every wedding weekend is different, which is what makes filming them so enjoyable.
Some couples organise a full afternoon of activities, while others prefer something more relaxed, with drinks and dinner the evening before.
I can join you for as much or as little of the celebrations as you'd like, including:
Welcome drinks and gatherings – That first afternoon or evening when everyone arrives, catches up and settles into the celebrations.
Highland games and outdoor activities – From tug of war and traditional Scottish games to clay pigeon shooting and a little friendly competition.
Pre-wedding dinners and speeches – Relaxed meals, heartfelt words and plenty of laughter before the wedding day.
Exploring the estate – Walks through the grounds, a dip in the loch or simply spending time together enjoying the surroundings.
Day-after celebrations – A relaxed brunch, garden party or another opportunity to bring everyone together before heading home.
You don't need to plan anything specifically for the film. I'll work around whatever you've organised, capturing the atmosphere and all the moments that happen along the way.
A Glencoe Adventure Session – Adrian & Joel
Some time together in the Scottish Highlands.
When Adrian and Joel travelled to Scotland from Australia for their wedding at Thirlestane Castle, their celebrations also included an adventure together in Glencoe.
Surrounded by the mountains and incredible scenery of the Highlands, it was a chance to spend some time together away from the celebrations, exploring one of Scotland's most beautiful places.
Their wedding film brings these two experiences together, combining their time in Glencoe with all the joy, laughter and celebrations of their wedding at Thirlestane Castle.
It's a lovely example of how an adventure session can add another part to your wedding story, particularly if you're travelling from overseas and want to make the most of your time in Scotland.
Make the Most of Your Time in Scotland
If you're travelling all the way to Scotland for your wedding, why not take the opportunity to explore a little more of the country while you're here?
Alongside wedding weekend coverage, I offer relaxed adventure sessions in Glencoe, giving you the chance to head into the Highlands together and have that experience captured on film.
We might take a walk through one of the glens, stop beside a loch or find a quiet spot surrounded by the mountains.
There's no need for posing or anything overly planned. It's simply a chance to spend some time together, enjoy the surroundings and have those moments captured naturally.
These sessions can take place before or after your wedding, depending on your plans, and the footage can become part of your wedding film or be created into something separate.
How Wedding Weekend Coverage Works
There's no set format for a wedding weekend, so I keep the filming options flexible.
You might be planning welcome drinks on one or two evenings, followed by your wedding day. Or perhaps you've booked an entire estate for three days, with activities, dinners and celebrations throughout.
We can chat through what you've got planned and work out which parts you'd like me to capture.
I'll film everything in my usual discreet, documentary style, blending in with your guests and letting the celebrations unfold naturally.
The additional footage can be woven into your main wedding film, helping tell the story of the whole weekend, or we can look at creating a separate film dedicated to the pre-wedding celebrations.
The aim is to give you something that brings back not just the wedding day, but the whole experience of having everyone together in Scotland.

Wedding Weekend Videography FAQs
Can you film more than one day of our wedding celebrations?
Absolutely. I offer additional coverage for couples planning two or three days of celebrations in Scotland. This can include welcome drinks, activities, dinners, speeches and day-after gatherings alongside your wedding day.
Do we need to book full-day coverage for the additional days?
Not at all. Every wedding weekend is different, so we can work around your plans. If you only want a few hours of filming for welcome drinks or a pre-wedding dinner, that's absolutely fine.
Will our pre-wedding celebrations be included in our wedding film?
They certainly can be. I can incorporate footage from the additional days into your main wedding film, helping tell the story of the whole weekend. Alternatively, we can discuss creating a separate film for those celebrations.
Can we book a Glencoe adventure session alongside our wedding?
Yes. If you're spending a little longer in Scotland, we can arrange an adventure session in Glencoe before or after your wedding. It's a lovely opportunity to explore the Highlands together and capture some natural footage away from the wedding celebrations.
Do you film destination weddings for couples travelling from overseas?
Yes, absolutely. I regularly work with couples travelling to Scotland for their wedding, including those coming from the United States and further afield. I'm based in Scotland and travel throughout the country to film weddings and extended celebrations.
Can you film at different locations over the weekend?
Of course. If your plans involve different venues or locations, we can discuss the schedule and build coverage around your celebrations.
