Rossie on the Earn Wedding Videographer

Rossie on the Earn is one of those Scottish wedding venues that has such a lovely feeling to it.

Set in the Perthshire countryside near Forgandenny, it has a brilliant mix of rustic charm, open space, beautiful gardens and relaxed countryside atmosphere. It feels private and tucked away, but still really easy for guests to enjoy. For a wedding film, that combination is such a gift.

What I love about filming weddings at Rossie on the Earn is how naturally the day flows. You can get ready on site in the farmhouses, head to a ceremony nearby or within the venue grounds, spend the afternoon with drinks, music and guests in the gardens, then move into the byre for dinner, speeches and dancing.

That kind of day is exactly what I love to capture. Not just the beautiful setting, but the real feeling of it all — the laughter, the nerves, the hugs, the daft moments, the emotional speeches, the packed dance floor and all the little things that make your wedding feel like you.

My approach as a wedding videographer is relaxed, natural and unobtrusive. I care deeply about the craft of making wedding films, but I never want the filming to take over the day. I want you to enjoy every bit of it while I quietly capture a film that feels joyful, personal and true to you as a couple.

You can explore more about the venue on the Rossie on the Earn website.

Having filmed weddings at Rossie on the Earn, it’s easy to see why couples are drawn here. Like nearby venues such as Errol Park, Byre at Inchyra and Guardswell Farm, Rossie on the Earn offers a beautiful Perthshire setting where the day flows naturally between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Sarah & Ben’s Rossie on the Earn Wedding Film

Sarah and Ben’s wedding at Rossie on the Earn was such a brilliant day to film.

The morning began in the farmhouses at Rossie, which gave everything a calm and relaxed start. I always love wedding mornings where everyone is nearby, settling into the day together, with that mix of excitement, nerves and little moments happening all around.

Once everyone was ready, it was time to head over to Forgandenny Parish Church for the ceremony. What I loved about this part of the day was the sense of occasion it gave everything. A beautiful church, guests arriving, everyone gathering together, and then that lovely shift when the ceremony begins and the whole focus is on the couple.

Afterwards, Sarah and Ben came out of the church to huge cheers and confetti from their family and friends, before heading off in a vintage car. Moments like that are exactly why I love filming weddings. They are full of energy, movement and real emotion, and they say so much about the atmosphere of the day.

Then it was back to Rossie on the Earn, where everyone could properly relax into the afternoon. Drinks, music, guests chatting, people enjoying the gardens, and Sarah and Ben taking a few quiet moments together in the private grounds.

The day finished with wonderful speeches, dinner and a packed dance floor. A full day with so much joy from start to finish.

What I Love About Filming Weddings at Rossie on the Earn

One of the things I love most about Rossie on the Earn is that it gives a wedding day space to breathe.

There is room for the morning to feel calm, room for guests to relax in the afternoon, and room for the evening to build into a proper celebration. From a filmmaking point of view, that is ideal, because the best wedding films are not created by forcing moments. They come from noticing what is already happening.

Rossie has so many lovely backdrops, but what makes it work so well on film is the way people move through the venue. The cottages, farmhouses, gardens, courtyard spaces and byre all feel connected, so the film can follow the story of the day naturally.

I also love that Rossie works for couples who want a wedding that feels relaxed but still full of atmosphere. It has the countryside setting, the rustic byre, the gardens and the views, but it never feels stiff or overly formal. That suits my style perfectly, because I want your wedding film to feel full of life, not like a staged production.

Getting Ready at Rossie on the Earn

Wedding mornings at Rossie on the Earn often begin across the estate accommodation and farmhouses.

What I love about this is how relaxed it can feel. Everyone is close by, the setting is calm, and the morning has space to unfold naturally. These are the moments where the story of the film really begins — final details, outfits being put on, family arriving, friends helping, a bit of chaos, a lot of excitement, and all the little interactions that make the morning feel personal.

I do not need to direct this part of the day heavily. I would much rather let it happen and capture it honestly. The best moments are usually the ones no one has planned.

For Sarah and Ben, the farmhouses at Rossie gave the morning a really lovely sense of calm before everything moved towards the ceremony.

A Rossie on the Earn Wedding Ceremony

Rossie on the Earn gives couples a few lovely options for the ceremony, including ceremonies within the venue spaces, outdoor settings in the gardens, and nearby Forgandenny Parish Church.

For Sarah and Ben, the ceremony took place at Forgandenny Parish Church, which worked beautifully with the rest of the day. It gave the ceremony a traditional, meaningful setting before everyone returned to Rossie for the celebrations.

What I love about filming church ceremonies is the atmosphere. Guests arriving, the quiet build-up, the music, the vows, the reactions, and that moment afterwards when everyone spills outside into confetti and congratulations.

Ceremonies are one of the most important parts of my wedding films. I film them carefully and discreetly, because those words and reactions become such a huge part of how the final film feels.

Drinks, Music and Time in the Gardens

After the ceremony, Rossie on the Earn is a brilliant place for everyone to settle into the afternoon.

What I love about the gardens and outdoor spaces at Rossie is that they give guests somewhere to properly relax. People can chat, have a drink, listen to music, enjoy the views, and just be together.

This part of the day is always full of the kind of footage I love most. Not posed or planned, but real. People laughing, hugging, telling stories, catching up, and enjoying the fact that everyone is in one place.

For Sarah and Ben, this part of the day had such a lovely feel. Everyone was back at Rossie, the music was playing, drinks were flowing, and the two of them had a little time together in the private gardens before heading back to their guests.

That short bit of time with just the couple is something I always think is worth making space for. Not for a long staged shoot, but just a few quiet minutes where you can breathe, laugh, and take in the day together.

Speeches, Dinner and Dancing at Rossie on the Earn

The byre at Rossie on the Earn is such a good space for the later part of the day.

What I love about it is how it changes as the day goes on. It can feel warm and atmospheric for dinner and speeches, then later it becomes the place where everyone fully lets go on the dance floor.

Speeches are a huge part of my wedding films. They bring so much personality into the story — the humour, the emotion, the family history, the friendships, and all the things that make the couple who they are.

That is why my wedding film packages include the full speeches as well as the shorter creative films. The highlights film gives you the feeling of the day, but the full speeches let you keep those words properly.

And once the dancing starts, I love ending the film with that energy. It feels like the natural release of the whole day — all the nerves gone, everyone together, and the celebration in full swing.

Filming a Rossie on the Earn Wedding Video

Rossie on the Earn is a brilliant venue for a natural, documentary-style wedding video.

The venue gives me everything I need to tell the story properly: a calm morning setting, beautiful countryside surroundings, space for guests to relax, meaningful ceremony options, atmospheric speeches and a great evening party space.

But the venue is only part of it.

What matters most to me is making a wedding film that feels like you. Your people, your humour, your energy, your family, your friends, your voices and your story.

I want the film to be beautifully crafted, but never fake. Joyful, but not cheesy. Emotional, but still full of fun. Something that brings you right back to how the day actually felt.
